Applications and volumes
The S1 system provides storage through Virtual Storage Containers (also referred to as volumes). All volumes are associated with Applications that act as a logical namespace for volumes to help you organize your volumes.
In the Applications section of the web interface, you can:
- Create edit and manipulate Applications, volumes, file systems, shares, and snapshots
- Manage host mappings to LUNs over iSCSI or fibre channel (FC)
- Create and manage a network attached storage (NAS) servers
- Replicate volumes
- Create and edit storage templates to automate common storage tasks
