Hardware Requirements
The S1 system provides a software-only solution using off-the-shelf hardware components. This section lists the minimum required hardware.

| Storage |
- S1 HA deployments: Connect two S1 nodes to a shared dual port disk enclosure (JBOD) or use a cluster-in-a-box solution such as a Storage Bridge Bay (SSB) system.
- At least one boot device such as a RAID-protected disk with a minimum of 128 GB of space. This storage space is used for the S1 operating system installation.

- A minimum of 8 cores. Preferably a dual Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2620v2 or higher.

- A minimum of 64GB RAM. For larger systems, 256GB or 512GB is preferred.

| Network Interfaces |
- Management: 1 Gbps Ethernet NIC.
- Data connection: 10/40/100 Gbps Ethernet NIC.
- S1 high availability (HA) deployments: an additional 10/40/100 Gbps interface is required for HA heartbeats and traffic.
