Browsing Notification History
Every StorONE node keeps its own local history of the notifications it has generated, independent of whether you've configured any notification targets to receive them. This is useful for after-the-fact investigation — for example, confirming when a Replication job started failing, or pulling together a timeline of HighAvailability events around a failover — without needing to have had email or Slack configured at the time.
By default, browsing notification history shows events of Information severity and higher, across all nodes and all categories, most recent first. You can narrow that down by node, severity, category, time range, or a free-text search, or widen it by explicitly asking for lower-severity Debug/Verbose events.
Using the web interface
- Open Administration > Notifications and switch to the History tab.
- Under Nodes Selection, optionally restrict the view to specific Nodes (defaults to every node).
- Under Filters, optionally set a Minimum Level (or specific Levels), specific Modules (categories), and a Start/End timestamp range.
- Under Search Options, optionally enter free-text to Search for, limit the number of results (Top), and choose sort order (Descending Order).
- Run the search to view matching notifications.
Using the CLI
notifications query [--nodes=<name...>] [--minLevel=<name> | --levels=<name...>] [--modules=<name...>]
[--startTimestamp=<startDate>] [--endTimestamp=<endDate>] [--utcTime]
[--search=<text>] [--top=<numbers>] [--descendingOrder]
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
--nodes=<name...> |
Names of the S1 nodes to get notifications from. Defaults to all nodes. |
--minLevel=<name> |
Filter by minimum notification level. Defaults to Information if neither this nor --levels is set. |
--levels=<name...> |
Filter by specific event levels (instead of a minimum). |
--modules=<name...> |
Filter by category names. Defaults to all categories. |
--startTimestamp=<startDate> |
Filter by start date/time, in ISO 8601 format (e.g. YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS). |
--endTimestamp=<endDate> |
Filter by end date/time, in ISO 8601 format. |
--utcTime |
Interpret the timestamp filters as UTC, and show result timestamps in UTC instead of local time. |
--search=<text> |
A free-text string to search for. You can search customer, system (cloud), node, and category names. |
--top=<numbers> |
Limit the number of results returned. |
--descendingOrder |
Sort results newest-first. |
Note: --minLevel and --levels are mutually exclusive — use one or the other.
Examples
Show the 50 most recent notifications across all nodes:
notifications query --top 50 --descendingOrder
Investigate replication issues on a specific node over a two-day window:
notifications query --nodes s1-node-01 --modules Replication --startTimestamp 2026-09-20T00:00:00 --endTimestamp 2026-09-22T00:00:00
Search for anything mentioning a specific host, down to Debug-level detail (which is hidden by default):
notifications query --search "10.0.0.55" --levels Debug Information Warning Error Fatal
